How to Fix Destiny 2 Connection Issues
Try these steps while waiting for servers to recover.
01
Check Bungie Status
Visit @BungieHelp on Twitter/X for the fastest outage updates, or help.bungie.net for their status page.
02
Check your NAT type
Destiny 2 requires Open NAT. Strict NAT will cause matchmaking and loading failures. Enable UPnP on your router.
03
Power cycle your router
Unplug your router for 30 seconds. This resolves many Weasel and Beaver error codes caused by stale connections.
04
Use a wired connection
Destiny 2's networking is sensitive to packet loss. A wired ethernet connection dramatically reduces error code frequency.
05
Clear console cache
PS5: Settings → Storage → Console Storage → System Data and clear system cache. Xbox: hold power for 10 seconds for a hard restart.
06
Check for updates
Destiny 2 patches frequently. Log into the launcher or check your console's game library — an outdated game version causes connection failures.
Upgrade your connection
A gaming router cuts lag and drops significantly.
